Your answer

The math behind it: Day of the Week

weekday = (days since a known reference date) mod 7

The week repeats every seven days, so the weekday of any date can be found by counting the days from a date whose weekday is known and taking the remainder after dividing by seven. January 1, 2000 was a Saturday, and July 4, 1776 was a Thursday.

Common questions

How do I find out what day of the week I was born?

Enter your date of birth above. The calculator shows the weekday straight away, for any date in the calendar.

What day of the week was January 1, 2000?

A Saturday.

Does the same date fall on the same weekday every year?

No. A normal year is 52 weeks and one day long, so each date moves forward one weekday a year, and two after a February 29.
